Pilot’s in STN are furious to have their vote of no confidence, and demand for democratic elections ignored.
The unelected STN ERC have ignored the very significant vote that happened. The basis of ignoring the vote was that it wasn’t a trustworthy vote. The vote was a safe and accurate vote via STN EFB, and only STN pilots had the ability to vote.
1. This directly questions the impartiality of STN ERC (and for that matter perhaps others).
2. STN ERC is not representing the views of STN pilots.
3. STN ERC despite pilots wanting change, is directly working with the company’s agenda.
4. The unelected ERC is likely taking direct action as directed by the company and ignoring all forms of communication and desires of the crew they should represent.
Pilot’s are now completely losing respect for the entire ERC system. That system in STN cannot represent anyone fairly, and must change if we are to get anywhere.
We send a clear call to all outlets colleagues to support us and for us to not entertain this in any base ERC. We must ensure that all bases and all ERC’s send a clear united message that this cannot be tolerated, and withold all ERC action without this unfairness getting resolved. This is on our doorstep, and is our issue also.
Make no mistake, STN unfairness affects all bases, especially in the UK and Ireland. This action affects unity and the voice we so desperately wish for.
Fairness for all crew, all bases, all ERCs means we should withdraw any support for future ERC negotiations in our opinion. As a minimum, a united ERC that acts as directed by pilots only and not a sham ERC that we now see in STN.
Now that would send a clear message.
UNITY must mean not allowing division in this manner. ERCs especially in the UK must be made aware of what is happening in STN, and make a stand against this. Just look at our DUB colleagues. Defiant to the last.
We need to speak up, not hide, and make our views known.
