On behalf of the Pilots Unite website, We would like to thank each and everyone of our contributors, visitors and well wishers. We here in the Pilots Unite team bear witness to a truly historic and unprecedented wave of unity and determination for justice amongst the Ryanair Pilot body.
We have seen acts of bravery – public and heroic in nature as in the actions of Captain Comer and Captain O’Connor – but many more undocumented instances of standing up to the bullies, to speaking out on local levels, to voting one’s convictions even in the face of threats of reprisal. The fifty-nine names of your ERC representatives on a letter to Ryanair, signing up to a collective EERC, showed us and showed Ryanair, that you were strong and ready for this challenge, and that your representatives – on all levels – are ready to lead.
We have seen an energy and a potency emerge within the pilot body as they have been called to a purpose above and beyond anything that could have been imagined when all this began. The members of the interim EERC are putting in hundreds of hours above and beyond their flight duties. They are doing the heavy lifting here and redirecting the path of the career pilot for the better with each battle they fight. Pilot groups from around the world have offered the newly forming representation any assistance they require, and even more importantly, when the Ryanair body was called upon, they answered. They responded and took action when action was needed. There is no reason to think they will not continue to do so.
Finally, we have seen selflessness that extends beyond any one individual and drives this unity movement. Ryanair pilots are transcending base and country in their common purpose to ensure a better future for their colleagues everywhere. This is a virtuous group; this is a noble group. We couldn’t have been more proud to document their struggle, their rise and we look forward with anticipation and awe to their inevitable success.
A new way to communicate has been launched. Please go to www.eerconline.com and visit often to get the vital news you need through these times. This site has served its purpose and we will eventually retire it. Again, its been a privilege to have been able to document all that you have done thus far.
