Dear Madrid Pilots,
We are sorry to hear that you have been put in a situation where you feel pressured to vote on a pay deal that neither yourselves or your elected representation had any part in preparing. A deal has been shoved under your noses with very little time to examine. You did not have the proper support in the form of professional negotiators, legal representation or advice from your colleagues.
Please learn from our extensive collective experience in dealing with Ryanair management. You are being asked to sign up to an agreement which you cannot trust to be implemented. The history of Ryanair contracts is littered with broken promises. The agreement that you are voting on is based on nothing which is legally binding. Bonuses, sector pay, base allocations. etc. can and have been changed at the whim of Ryanair, regardless of whether the agreements were verbal or written. The only way to ensure that you get the changes to the terms and conditions you so richly deserve is to work with the collective EERC structure who will have the professional and legal personnel who can bring a binding contract to the table with Ryanair management.
This upcoming vote in Madrid has been arranged at very short notice and is subject to a myriad of problems. We urge you to vote, however, we urge you to vote NO. By not voting, you increase the chances of this problematic deal passing. Please vote and vote NO.
The outcomes of past ballots in Ryanair over the years have been questionable. We urge you to contact a local SEPLA representative who can monitor the vote as an impartial observer to ensure its integrity.
Negotiation only starts with the first offer. The appropriate response during these negotiations is to say NO. We ask you to trust us when we say that greater things can be accomplished when we remain united and negotiating with one voice. Our goals are not attainable by allowing management to dictate the terms and force an un-negotiated deal upon us.
When we move together as one, only then can we assure a fair and just deal that benefits us and our future colleagues across all Ryanair bases. Now is the time to act together, not act alone.
Your friends across the Ryanair pilot body trust that you will make the right decision by voting NO and wish you all the best of luck!
We are stronger united.
